Our story

Why Sencijo?

Sencijo comes from the Spanish word sencillo — simple.

Simple doesn't mean less.

For us, simple doesn't mean less. It means focusing on what matters.

  • God.
  • Family.
  • Good work.
  • Good friends.
  • The mountains.

Something that brings people together

Sencijo grew from a love for the highlands of Chiriquí and a desire to build something that brings people together.

What started with bikes, coffee, and woodworking is becoming something bigger — a place where people can come to explore, create, rest, and connect.

Ride. Create. Gather.

Guiding a first-timer down a farm road with Barú on the horizon. Planing a board until the grain shows. Pouring a cup of coffee grown just up the mountain. We built one place where all three could live together.

That's why the café looks into both workshops. Work done honestly is worth watching — and we'd rather you feel like a guest in our shop than a customer at a counter.

A family business

We're a family business, and we want Sencijo to feel that way. Come by and you'll meet us: someone pouring coffee, someone truing a wheel, someone covered in wood shavings.

Come as you are. Stay awhile.

We didn't move to the mountains to open a business. We opened a business so we could share the mountains.

Faith · Why we do it

Faith is why we do it.

God is at the center of everything we do — it's the most important part of Sencijo.

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. … You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Matthew 22:37, 39
